Polished
A polished finish is highly reflective and often emphasises colour and veining. It is commonly used when a crisp, decorative appearance is wanted. Confirm the recommended use and care for the exact stone.
Honed
Honed surfaces are less reflective and can produce a softer, contemporary look. Marks may read differently from a polished surface because the interaction with light changes.
Textured finishes
Flamed and other textured processes can add grip and visual depth. They are often considered for outdoor or high-slip-risk applications, but the exact performance depends on stone, texture and environment.
Do not choose by photo alone
Lighting, camera processing and screen settings can hide the difference between finishes. Whenever the decision affects a large project, review a physical sample or slab and confirm the specification.
